relocation

jb’s casa de tacos buenos finds a permanent home

the first fruits of our labors

a year has passed in a psychological landscape none of us desired and though some anticipated its duration significantly longer than what transpired we have

for the time being

recovered

except many among us haven’t had the chance to return to what we called normal for various reasons

we may have lost loved ones

we may find ourselves too anxious to return whole-heartedly

we may have been sick ourselves and fear passing lasting effects to those we care for despite the ruling of public-facing scientists

we may be trepidatious about taking a brand-new shot for any number of reasons

and to all these folks i say this

i hear you and i love you and i hope the time comes soon when we can meet again without fear

my brilliant friend courtney kalbacker eating a tinga de pollo taco while being observed by the spirit of nina simone who watches over my home and reminds me to consider the folks i intend to reach

so here’s my offer

i’ve kept pretty close tabs on the science of the vaccines having been stuck myself with the j&j two days before closing on my house in southwest baltimore and i’m ready to welcome you to the casa de tacos buenos’s permanent home down here next to hollins market if you’ve gotten your shots

give me two days’ notice and i’ll show you an #excellenttaco

just a small sample of those who ate of jb’s tacos buenos while warming my house

none of this is easy and i don’t judge you under any circumstances but i want to see you safe, healthy, and whole and that’s why i ask to see your vax card before entering the permacasa

please trust in the science around your health

and please trust in me that i will show you a feast the likes of which you have rarely found if ever

welcome back

Welcome Back

to the casa de tacos buenos

i promise to do my best to show you an excellent meal and stay if that’s what we’re in for

what i thought were the last two tacos of the housewarming party night and were definitely not the last tacos i had that night
